Advent Bible Study

The Advent Bible Study, “ Faithful – Christmas Through The Eyes Of Joseph” by Adam Hamilton, is being offered at two times: The evening study beginning Dec 5th at 7 pm led by Pastor Robert at the Enfinger Center; and the daytime study beginning November 29th at 11 am at the home of Jerel and Nieta Devor at 22357 Respite Lane, Foley.  It is east of the expressway on county road 12.  Take the first right turn off of 12 (about ¾ mile) go straight as far as you can and take a right turn.  Our home has the manger scene in the yard on the left.  

The cost of the books is $14.00.  Even if you didn't sign up ahead of time you may feel God nudging you to join one of the studies.  Please give Pastor Robert a call at 405-204-1462 if you want to attend the evening study and Nieta Devor at 785-231-4293 for the daytime study so we can know who to expect.

Bible Studies

Morgan’s Chapel is investigating starting Bible Studies groups beginning at the end of November 2018.  Based on interest, there could be day and/or evening groups:  Preliminary times and starting dates are Wednesday 7:00 pm November 28th and Thursday 11:00 am November 29th.    Please email info@morganschapel.org if you are interested in attending.  Please also let us know if you are flexible on morning or evening.  If you can only attend either morning or evening that fine just note that in your email.  The first series is:

The Spiritual Gifts Assessment helps individuals identify their God-given gifts for living faithfully as Christian disciples day by day and find meaningful ways to use their gifts in connection with others through the community of faith. The process helps people understand the nature of spiritual gifts and ways to enhance the effectiveness of their gifts by linking together with others.

Announcements

NURSERY CARE is available in the Enfinger Center building for all services.  One of the ushers will be glad to assist you. 

CHURCH COUNCIL will meet MARCH 25 after fellowship time. 

CHOIR REHEARSALS.  The choir will rehearse music for Palm Sunday and Easter after worship TODAY from 11 to 12.  We will also learn some pieces from our new books, “The Faith We Sing.”  Want to join us just for Easter music without making a permanent commitment to choir?  Please come!

UNITED METHODIST MEN’s ADVANCE for the Alabama-West Florida Conference will be April 20-21 at Blue Lake.  See Brian Grantham for details.

SUMMER CAMP AT LAKE FOREST RANCH for 11-18-year-olds.  Time to be planning for summer!  Registrations will be due soon, so see Beth for more info. 

PASSOVER MEAL.  On Maundy Thursday, MARCH 29 at 6:30, we will celebrate Holy Communion as part of a Passover Seder meal in the Enfinger Center.  There will be no charge for the meal, but reservations are needed to help us plan appropriately.  Sign up on your bulletin insert and place in offering plate.  Volunteers to help with set up, serving, readings, and clean up are very welcome.  Let Katie Aiken know if you would like to help or would like to know more: 981-6786 or kaiken@gulftel.com.

FOLEY UMC LENTEN LUNCHES. Foley United Methodist Church “Lenten Lunches” continue each Thursday through March 22 in the Spirit Center at 915 N. Pine St.  A simple lunch is served from 11:30-12:30 with a program beginning just after noon.  Devotional thoughts from a different pastor or community leader each week.  $5.00 suggested donation for lunch.

USHERS NEEDED. Our usher calendar is posted at the back of the sanctuary.  Please volunteer to serve our church family by welcoming folks to worship.  Nervous about volunteering to usher?  No problem!    We will train you before your term of service begins!
